Community Impact
Your United Way works hard with others to build Milford into a more caring community. Not only do we support 20 local agencies, but we also collaborate with our town’s government officials, social service departments, and local companies to dig deep into our community problems and find solutions for our citizens in need.
Currently the Service Area Council of United Way has conducted focus groups to identify five pressing areas of need: childcare, youth services, transportation, affordable housing, and library services. The council is responsible for determining if there are unmet needs in the community and then finding ways of addressing them. The United Way of Milford is looking to meet the challenges of today’s residents and has established a fund to find solutions for some of these issues.
